In the digital age, many jobs can be done remotely, whether in the same country, the same city, or even 6,000 kilometers away from your clients or employer.

The term « Digital Nomad » refers to a person who works while traveling and only needs an internet connection. Typically, digital nomads, as the name suggests, primarily work in digital professions (e.g., community manager, developer, influencers, etc.).

With the development of the internet worldwide, especially with the expansion of Wi-Fi networks and the growth of mobile networks in most countries, you can work in almost any country in the world. Digital nomads are generally independent (freelancers, entrepreneurs), but in rarer cases, it is possible to be an employee and a nomad.

More than just remote workers, digital nomads aspire to explore the world at their own pace. Instead of taking short trips, digital nomads might decide to spend 6 months in Indonesia, a year in Costa Rica, or 3 months in Lisbon.

You’ll understand that being a digital nomad is primarily a lifestyle that allows you to discover other cultures, regions, and be on the move without necessarily rushing. Having a frantic pace of visits, like a tourist with little time on their hands, is not sustainable when working while traveling. Digital nomads travel but are not on vacation!

This way of life allows for and requires adapting your work rhythm to the context (customs, traditions, the culture of the country, weather conditions, etc.).

Being a digital nomad still offers great freedom of movement and work: you can have various different professions, travel alone, with a partner, with family, live in coliving spaces, have a home base, choose « vanlife, » live on a boat, or decide to circumnavigate the globe !

And you, what will be your nomadic lifestyle ?
